A new me

Haven't blogged for 5 months lu... I guess no one is reading it, right?

I recently joined the master swimming club. I'm back to training now....not just lap swim, but intensive training..so much fun...this coach complicates everything...we'll have a 4x125 IM swim,  Fly, Fly, Free, Breast, Back; Breast, Breast, Free, Fly, Back; Back, Back, Breast, Free, Fly; Free, Free, Fly, Back Breast... wtever...i'll just tag along.

I will also join the table-tennis club here... at least i am forced to workout more ma...

Heard that it's going to snow this Sat.  Can you believe it?   It's another long winter.

Some new insights:

- A successful woman must know how to cook.  At least you should have a few impressive dishes to show off when hosting a party.   A few will be enough, you can keep recycling your receipes.

- Work hard, play hard

- Learn to say no without hestitation and sentiment.

- Reading news on my RSS reader becomes a habit and leisure

- Fashion is about architecture - from Project Runway

- Economic crisis isn't everything... 

- Have an obsessive interest in foundation powder, something that I never put on.

Somehow I have a feeling that this year will end with a happy note.... coz there're so much to expect.

Long time no xanga

It's finally getting warmer in Midland. I am so sick of winter.

Interesting observation at work :

1. There's a walking program in my company. I see colleagues in their running shoes, walking around the company all day. Some walk in pair, or in groups.
   
2. There's cooking class as well. My company's top chef did a cooking demostration. He cooked 4 dishes, and spelled out calories of each dish.  D housewife-age ge colleagues really paied attention. They took notes and asked serious questions.
   
3. My company also offers free ergonomics check. Someone came into my office and checked my sitting posture, workstation, computer, chair and table. They measured the distance and brought me a rolling table. They just wanna make sure that I won't get muscle pain from work.
   
4. There are turkeys walking in my company's parking lot. The biggest group consists of 14 turkeys.
   
5. Sometimes I can see deers as well.
   
6. My company offers free Spanish classes. I'm enjoying it !

Get the best out of Generation Y

1. Eliminate ambiguity.    Set clear goals and timelines please.

2. Think of time as a 24/7 resource.   Tell me when it's due, not when to do it.

3. Combine work with play.   

4. Make it worthwhile.    Challenge me with tough problems, not just the ones you think I can handle.

5. Handle with care.   Frame feedback positively.

6. Play to their strenghts.  Let our creativity, technology skills and brainpower loose.
